Jeanne finds Arizona a good place to live and an interesting and challenging area to paint. She lives in Cottonwood in the Verde Valley.
Jeanne was born in Miles City, Montana and grew up on a ranch near there. She has also lived in California and many years in Alaska. She is a graduate of Montana State University with further art studies at University of Alaska, Yavapai College in Clarkdale, and numerous workshops. Drawing classes in college were the beginning stimulus to do art. She taught design and art classes including drawing, printmaking, and art exploration at University of Alaska in Juneau. She also taught art classes at the Southeast Regional Correctional Institute and in the Public School System in Juneau. Further work included developing educational and promotional materials using graphic art at the Alaska State Museum and Alaska Division of Public Health.
Watercolor is her preferred medium, and she works in mixed media as well. She is a member of the Arizona Watercolor Association (AWS) and a juried member of the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society (NAWS). Jeanne is a past president of NAWS and has been involved in every aspect of the organization. She is an active volunteer in other art groups in the Verde Valley as well. She is a member of the El Valle Artists Association based in Cottonwood with membership from through out the Verde Valley. She is also a member of the Sedona Art Center.
