Cass Schorsch

Cass has been weaving and teaching Bark Basketry since 1981.  She harvest all the barks she weaves with.  These consist of Birch Bark, Eastern White Cedar, Basswood, Elm, and numerous pine barks.

Cass co-authored the book Natural Baskets i 1992.  She has been published in Crafts Reports, Fiber Arts Magazine, Baskets Now 2002, 599 Baskets, Plaited Basketry in Birch Bark, and New & Different Materials for coiling and weaving on Gourds..  Three of her pieces are in the permanent collection at the Michigan State University Museum.
