Bear Schutz

Although Bear is shown in the category of painters, his work is diverse and covers many disciplines.

Bear is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist.

He has been working professionally for 40 years.

Much of his inspiration to make art comes from his deep connections to the natural world.

Bear is currently painting with oil on canvas and sculpting with wood, ceramics and found objects.

Music also plays a significant role in Bears art both as inspiration and participation as he builds and plays musical instruments from upcycled and re-purposed materials.

His work can be viewed by appointment at his gallery/studio “Art House” that he shares with his partner, ceramic artist Jenny Emminger.
