“Watercolors and Fabric Art”
As a child I was a hands on learner, unless it turned into some kind of an art project it didn’t hold my attention. I loved building things and making collages. In high school I did 5yrs. of ceramics and art. I have always been consumed by colors and nature so; landscapes and florals are what I enjoy doing the most. I love to incorporate many different materials to achieve different textures and colors in my work. I had the privilege of learning watercolors under the teaching of Master Artist Tom Fong and Dorothy Harmes in California for several years. They helped me see the world through different eyes. I also love to sew, so it didn’t take long before I started incorporating fabric into my art. I read a book on landscape quilting and started playing around
with it. I was hooked! For the next 4 years, every scene was a potential landscape quilt. Since 2007 when we moved to Clarkdale, Arizona, I have been inspired by this quaint little historic town. I have chosen to use fabric as my medium to create
landscapes of Historic Clarkdale and its beautiful four seasons. I am excited to be a part of “Made in Clarkdale” and share my passion with others and my community.
