Bea Chavez

I was born in Jerome and grew up there. In 1953 when the mine closed down we moved to the Globe Miami area. I finished school in 1955 and got two jobs to help send me to school. I got my certificate of cosmetology and worked two years in Globe. There I met my husband and got married in 1959. We had four children, three boys and one girl, twenty-five grand kids and thirty-four great grand kids.

I started sewing when my kids were little to made ends meet. I also started doing crafts and sewing for other people to make extra money. During that time I worked at many jobs. Now that I am retired, I can do all my crafts at my leisure.

I have so much more that I could tell you. Enough to make a book and it would take a long time.

Love,

Bea Chavez
